Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern the relationship between us, the publisher of authentication (the “app”), and anyone who installs or uses it.

By installing, accessing, or using the app you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. “You” refers to any person who uses the app.

1. What the app does

The app generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) that serve as the second factor when you sign in to accounts you have protected with two-factor authentication. It is a tool for producing those codes; it does not manage, access, or control the accounts themselves.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes. Your use must not breach:

• applicable laws or regulations
• the rights of third parties
• the security policies of the services you connect it to

You must not interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the app.

3. Your responsibilities

Because codes are generated on your device, the security of that device matters. You are responsible for:

• keeping your device and its screen lock secure
• keeping the recovery codes each service issues when you turn on two-factor authentication
• deciding whether to enable backup, and keeping any backup secure

If you lose your device without a backup or recovery codes, we cannot restore access to your accounts. We do not hold your setup keys and have no means of recovering them.

4. Third-party services

The app works alongside services operated by other companies. Those services are independent of us. We do not control their availability, security practices, or content, and we are not responsible for them. Names and trademarks of other services are the property of their owners and are referred to only to indicate compatibility with standard two-factor authentication.

5. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The app, including its software, design, graphics, branding, and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or otherwise exploit any part of it without prior written permission.

7. Availability and termination

We may suspend, limit, or discontinue the app at any time. We may end your right to use it if these Terms are breached or if misuse or unlawful activity is identified. On termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the app, including:

• service interruptions
• unauthorised access to your device or accounts
• loss of setup keys or authentication data
• loss of access to third-party accounts
• device or technical failures

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law
